A bus is the most efficient, environmentally friendly, mobility vehicle for public transport in NYC. Congestion relief is best achieved by a bus, whether private or public authority owned. Bus passengers replace up to 55 cars. BUS ONLY lanes are proven to be successful.
Buses produce the lowest amount of CO2 per passenger; have the highest passenger MPG of any form in mass transit; are far greener than single occupancy cars or ride share vehicles. Inclusion of Passengers on private buses/public authority owned buses (as Parity stated in the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act, FAST Act) is the optimal way to minimize congestion plus achieve goals of Congestion Pricing.
